African women from all walks of life converged in Banjul, the Gambian capital to deliberate on a spectrum of topics around women empowerment, governance and policy development frameworks.
The Africa Women Conference(AWC) is an annual international event which brings together great women leaders and gender advocates for the common good of all.
The AWC intends to create a platform to foster collaborations and productive dialogues among women from all sectors of the African economy, by extension the Girl-child, and to other vulnerable young people.
In attendance were H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Manu, High Commissioner of Nigeria to the Republic of Gambia; H.E. Mrs. Fatoumatta Bah Barrow, The First Lady of the Republic of The Gambia, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu The Honorable Minister of State Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria; Hajia Hadiza Mohammed Kabir Mandate Secretary, FCT Social Development Secretariat, Nigeria, Mrs Jumai Ahmadu, the President and Co-Convener, of the AWC, diplomats and other members of civil society groups.
